BEGIN YOUR WELLNESS JOURNEY.

accessible yoga for everyBODY!

Yoga’s main purpose is to help people find peace of mind; however, most styles of mainstream yoga focus on fitness and body image and happen in less than peaceful environments. For people with a trauma or stress related condition, the thought of going to a class under these circumstances can be intimidating.

Private and group sessions for those who would like to practice yoga in a safe and supportive environment, where you can feel free to move at your own pace and to focus on those aspects of yoga most beneficial for your personal circumstances and special consideration is given to offering a safe experience through: the creation of a controlled environment, the use of neutral language, the practice of safe and accessible poses, and a compassionate understanding of what it means to be living with the symptoms of trauma and stress related conditions.

The participants do not need to adapt to yoga, yoga is flexible enough for everyone, and students can safely follow the program and experience the benefits. This includes: people with different fitness levels, those starting a practice later in life or who are new to yoga or fitness, students with injuries or mobility difficulties such as MS, Cancer, or weight concerns; students who are, pregnant, suffering from anxiety, depression, PTSD and students with other reasons for attending a gentle class.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a powerful and unique state of awareness in which the body profoundly relaxes, the thinking-mind fades away, emotions seem to evaporate, alertness magnifies and awareness becomes crisp and clear.

It begins with a very deep state of relaxation occurring physically, energetically, mentally and emotionally. It serves as a natural prelude to meditation. As this happens, we experience a level of consciousness that precedes all awareness. Notably is it stress-free, it is extremely healing, restorative and powerful.

What is experienced is awareness without words, thoughts, images, feelings and other sensations. This awareness connects us with where our innate wisdom, intelligence and intuition naturally exist. Pure bliss. Yoga Nidra is a delightful route to the heart and soul of Yoga, and to yourself.

Yoga Nidra is done laying down (Savasana) and powerfully combines breathing, sensory training and control, and meditation. This progression naturally leads us into conscious deep relaxation, the experience of meditative awareness and experiencing our true self.

This class includes 15 minutes of Gentle or Restorative yoga and 45 minutes of Yoga Nidra.

Yin is in!

Yin Yoga is a passive style of yoga practice that uses longer holds in fully supported postures to bring release to connective tissue, specifically ligaments and tendons in the joints and spine. This practice is beneficial to all bodies and all levels, from those seeking ease and mobility due to tightness or chronic pain, as well as yogis looking to improve mobility and provide a complement to more Yang (active) styles of practice.
